The influence of the institutional environment on job performance: perspectives from applied research

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify the relationship between organizational climate and job performance at an educational institution located in the city of Guayaquil during 2020. A basic methodology was adopted, under a quantitative approach, using a non-experimental design with a descriptive and correlational cross-sectional scope. The sampling technique was census-based, consisting of a total of forty participants. For data collection, a survey based on a structured questionnaire was applied, aimed at measuring the variables under study. The questions posed in the instrument were subjected to validation by experts in the educational and organizational areas, and subsequently a reliability test was performed using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, obtaining a value of 0.853 for the organizational climate variable and 0.827 for job performance. These results indicated high reliability in the instruments used. Finally, a statistically significant relationship was found between both variables, with a p-value less than 0.05, confirming that the perceived organizational environment within the school setting directly influenced staff performance, thus establishing a significant correlation between these dimensions.
