Biotechnological Strategies for the Use of Microorganisms in Sustainable Crops

The main objective of this study was to analyze the effects of applying effective microorganisms (EM) on the agronomic characteristics of soybean crops under experimental conditions in Ecuador. A completely randomized block design was used, with four treatments and their respective replicates, evaluating key variables such as plant height, thousand-grain weight, and grain yield per hectare. The results indicated that the T4 treatment showed the greatest height growth, with an average of 87 cm, followed by the T2 and T3 treatments at 83 cm, while the control treatment, without EM application, reached only 79 cm. Regarding thousand-grain weight, statistically significant differences were observed, with the T4 treatment again standing out with 160 grams, suggesting a positive influence of EM on crop development. Furthermore, the average yield obtained in the T4 treatment was 3,450 kg/ha, demonstrating a substantial improvement compared to the other treatments evaluated. These findings allow us to conclude that the application of effective microorganisms has a positive impact on soybean development and productivity, representing a viable and sustainable alternative for improving agricultural yield in Ecuador. Would you like me to complement this with a theoretical introduction or contextual framework for the use of EM in Ecuador?.
